Service Projects
Finca La Anita is located in such a remote area that the tourism and commercial boom in Costa Rica has left this area untouched. The people are simple humble families that work in farming, have small stores, or teach in the local schools. Within 7 kilometers in either direction there are many families who have to work very hard to meet their basic needs.
The schools in this area are extremely poor. Most often they do not have enough pencils and crayons or writing paper. Many of our guests bring school supplies, which makes a big these difference in these schools. Guests or student groups can help teach introductory English classes, play with the children at recess, or support a school-development project like the computer center or classroom libraries.
We
are always looking for student or adult groups who are interested in
supporting sustainable community development projects in our local
communities. Simply let us know by email and we can construct a service
project suited to your group.
Internships
It's 5:00 AM and the clouds divide as soft flecks of gold and pink creep into the sunrise, and you awake to the sounds of workers sharpening their machetes. You don your boots and venture off to the places where your hands and the earth overlap. After a morning's work in a garden of medicinal plants or rolling hills of macadamia trees and ornamental flowers, return to your house, fondly known as the Casita Campesina, and enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruits, gallo pinto, and eggs straight from our ranch.
Our
volunteers come to work, study, relax, and enjoy the day-to-day life of
a ranch in the rainforest. Whether you spend your Spring Break or your
first 9 months out of college at the ranch, we will work with you to
customize your experience. If you're looking for a resume booster, an
educational experience, or just a chance to get away hit the link below to request an application to be a volunteer intern.
